About this ship
Freedom of the Seas is the lead ship of Royal Caribbean's Freedom class, built in 2006 at the Aker Finnyards Turku Shipyard in Finland and briefly the largest cruise ship in the world at launch. The vessel spans 15 passenger decks and carries roughly 3,600 guests at double occupancy, with a central Royal Promenade, family-oriented water features, and a mix of specialty dining venues. It has undergone multiple refurbishments, including a 2020 'Royal Amplified' overhaul and additional updates completed in early 2025.
