About this ship
Carnival Spirit is the lead ship of Carnival's Spirit class, built by Kværner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland and entering service in 2001. The 88,500-gross-ton ship carries about 2,124 guests at double occupancy across 12 passenger decks and has spent time deployed in the U.S., Australian, and Chinese markets over its history. It underwent a multi-million-dollar dry dock in 2012 that added the Green Thunder waterslide, a WaterWorks aqua park, and the Serenity adults-only retreat, with further Funship 2.0 style updates in 2018.
